Thank you to all at Books and Beans for a lovely evening – I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Here are one or two photos…
And here I am with Bernard Briggs, who compered. I have no idea what the hand gesture was about. But you can see from the surroundings what a gorgeous place Books and Beans is.
If you didn’t make it to the event and you would like a copy of the book, it is available from the Red Squirrel Press website, price £8.99 (p&p free in the UK)

7th October 2017 – the Edinburgh launch of Not in Nightingale Country
The Edinburgh launch of my new collection, Not in Nightingale Country, will be at the Scottish Poetry Library, 5 Crichton’s Close (just off the Canongate) at 1pm on Saturday 7th October. Tickets are free, available on the door. Hope to see you there!
‘Drawing the reader into landscapes ancient and modern,
real and imagined, internal and external, this collection
takes an often dark, but often slyly humorous, view of the
world. The poems explore the secret places of memory and
imagination, creating new mythologies from their exact
observations of the every-day and their vivid evocations of
times past.’

July 2017 – Fish Publishing Poetry Competition
Tomorrow sees the launch of the 2017 Fish Anthology, which I’m sad I can’t get to Ireland for – it includes my poem “Heron”, which was a runner-up in the Poetry Competition and had nice things said about it by Jo Shapcott, which I was very chuffed by. Anyway, congratulations to all the competition winners and honorable mentionees, and best wishes for the launch
