There has been a regular poetry night at Books and Beans since 2003 when it became the venue for evenings run by the Dead Good Poets group. More recently, the night has been run by poet Olivia McMahon and from summer 2017 Bernard Briggs, Richie Brown and I will be organising it.
It’s the last Thursday of every month (except the summer break), from 6.30 – 8.00 pm. We have guest poets from near and sometimes far, plus our regular Open Mic. Entry is free, but contributions are welcome as they help us pay our poets’ expenses. Thanks, as always, to Craig Wilcox and his staff for giving us such a great venue.
